Awesome Preview Article for 2012 Tour and a rehearsal VID!?!?! WOWOWOWO!

Hey All!
I am at it early this Sunday....a gal has got to sell her shiz!
Now that Canada Sings has wrapped for 2012...what an awesome season it was...it is time to go on tour!! The Sharron Matthews Superstar: GOLD Tour 2012!
And I am very excited about this tour...it is some of my solid GOLD hits (see what I did there?), stories about Gold Diggers (that effing Kim Kardashian), Gold Stealers (You gotta come to the show to hear about that!), Gold Sequins and so much more...and there is a Hooker Medley. I
I mean, why not?
Here is a fabulous article that just went up on The New Current site in the UK to preview my show! They named me one of the "TNC Top Five Cabarets 2012"...HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE THAT?!!?? I ASK YOU!! Checks it!

Now, I had no idea...as you will see...but at my rehearsal for that tour a couple of days ago, a wonderful documentary type filmmaker, director, producer, bon vivant (I know I spelled that wrong but you get the idea, right?) , Mike Bickerton, showed up and took some footage! What? I never knew...as you can see from the video...I am very surprised...there is no other explanation for why my hair is so effing bad.
I am very excited about the whole tour...I know I keep saying it...but I am.
This is already my favourite show I have ever done.
The posters with all the info for TO and UK are at the bottom of this page after the video of which I had no knowledge!!

Now, thank you to my fabulous poster and flyer  designer for the last 6 years ( Holy CRAP how time flies)  Andy Parks (www.andyparks.com) he NEVER disappoints and always makes me feel like a rockstar! Always! And to the earlier mentioned, Mike Bickerton, who took the photo for this as well. Both amazing supporters. Thank you!
All the info for the first leg of the tour is right below!! COME ON OUT!!!
(New York info is on my Website http://www.sharronmatthews.com with poster to FOLLOW!!)

Week 5 - Stampede Casion vs. RBC, people.

Well!!
Wasn't that some ooey... gooey... sexy CANADA SINGS GOODNESS?!?!
That is possibly one of my fave episodes...for many reasons (don't be mad other teams...you KNOW I love you all...but the match up was amazing and the routines gelled with each other...sexy)...there was a crazy battle onstage...and off...as it seems...we missed Jann...that was for sure.
You see...Kelly, Scott, CV and myself sit about 20 rows behind the judges during the whole deliberation thing...we try and figure out from arm movements WHAT the eff is going on. We don't really know who voted for what team until after...unless they feel very strongly about something and tell us after...like that ever happens. :)
Anyhow, here is the thing...I don't think you would ever be able to tell on the TV (it just can't cover ALL the days in their package...it is too much time) how far these people come. They are not professionals! NOT! Sometimes we are lucky enough to get someone with natural talent or someone who sang in a band...or someone who loves performing...but for the most part...and I think the other coaches would agree...we are getting very enthusiastic people who have never been on a stage, sung a note or danced a step. The judges and the audience have gotten used to polished performances and could NEVER guess all the hard work that the teams put into it. The transformation is un-freakin-believable. As for Stampede...when they sent us their update rehearsal videos (which they do after we leave to make sure they aren't riding off the rails) they were in rooms that were the size of a bathroom ... or a hallway... and, if you saw the show you know, the team was huge. So, it is more than just dedication...it is determination, sweat and pure team work. They only excel if they work their butts off and come together as a team.
Here are my TAKIN' ONE FOR THE TEAM Honourable Mentions!
I didn't know that Ron shaved his moustache...for the first time in like 30 years...he also learned to ride that old timey bike he rode...THAT DAY...and then quick changed into huge clown shoes...which he danced in... FOR THE WHOLE NUMBER!! YAY RON!
Then Jodi, the strong man in the number and the team glue put on that freakin' singlet...god bless his soul!! Not everyone has the hips to pull that off, Jodi!
Dani and Jeff going over and over and over that freaking lift...they killed it on the stage.
Sarah, the lover girl, worked hard on her voice to match, lover boy Ryan's voice...really hard...and they both worked on their characters...they were circus love gone RIGHT!!
And then there was Sharon...awesome...she had such a great spirit...and was so game to be a bearded lady...that is taking one for the team...and she was pretty hot with that beard!!
Take a look at this awesome before and after experience and you will learn a bit more what it is about!!

Aren't they awesome!
They really are.
And RBC rehearsed their tails off as well. Kelly and Scott told me that their team had really done the work...and it showed. Worthy opponents. One of my two fave Scott and Kelly numbers of the season (and they are all wonderful)...you couldn't help but smile and get carried away.
Here is the RBC before and after video.

These people executed two full musical theatre pieces.
What a wonderful thing.
I would also like to thank the AMAZING wardrobe team...you saw Lisa Williams in the video...she and her team are responsible for all of the costumes...ALL OF THEM and styling all of us. And people fly from out of town...just before we shoot...it is a hard ass job and they do it so awesomely. THANK YOU!! And to the hair and make up crew who did such a wonderful job on our circus people!
AND IT WAS A TIE!!!
A TIE!!! Ice seemed fine with that...Laurieann not so much!! BUT WE WERE SURE HAPPY!
It is the way we always (Artistic Teams) wish it could go...they both work so hard...and come so far.
Losing sucks ass.
AMAZING!!!
One more week...sigh.
It goes by so quickly.
Next week is Purdy's Chocolate vs. Go Transit...and it is...something else...one of my faves ...  again...wait...maybe they are all my faves.
Yes...that seems right!
So, tune in next week, people!
Don't miss the last show!!
It is...you guessed it...a barn burner...

TONIGHT! The warm up to Stampede vs. RBC! 3-1 for Kelly and Scott! LORD!!!

Tonight is SEXY ...and I (and my boobs) decided to try and join in!! CV looks so handsome, as usual... Kelly Konno and Scott Henderson look unconvinced.
Matte is sticking his tongue out...no idea why!
I would like to take this chance to give a shout out  to the stellar work of Kelly and Scott...I can't think better competitors!
This season has been a barn burner.
Tonight, CV and I are trying to come back from a...I HATE TO EVEN UTTER IT on my effing blog...a 3-1 losing streak.
AND let me say here...that none of our teams are losers...they are all winners. ALL OF THE TEAMS ARE WINNERS FOR stepping up and working their asses off.
Now...unlike everything else in my life :)... this show isn't about me...at least that is what my husband keeps reminding me... SERIOUSLY, though, it is about the teams...and their charities.
And almost EVERY one of our TEAMS came away with something more than expected. OPP got $10,000 from West Jet...so they ended up with $15000 (which was $5000 more than the winner's purse in season one!) for the Dave Mounsey Memorial Foundation. Elmwood got $5000 from Jann Arden...so they won $10,000 for the YWCA.
Except for OCS...and if I had an extra $5000 I would have given it...I would have! The deserved it. They DID walk away with $5000 for the Adopt-A-Class program!
And the RCAF, of course, won their week and received $25,000 for Support Our Troops!
Every one of our teams so far has killed it.
So, they did their job!!
Now, let us be frank, people...CV and I HATE LOSING!!! WE HATE IT!! IT SUCKS!!!
And tonight...I think both of our teams REALLY hit it out of the park tonight...Kelly and Scott's RBC team and our Stampede team...one of my fave episodes...no offence to any of the other teams...but this one had ...some hot sauce on it...Scott keeps calling it a Sexicode...and I would tend to agree. Ihaven't seen the finished show...so I am, as always nervous as hell!
BUT...it was a fair fight...and it...I...lord...it was a hard one, PEOPLE!! A HARD ONE!
Do Kelly and Scott's team walk away with it...again...or do we finally get a another win!! DO WE!!?!?
What the EFF!?!?!
Here is a candid shot of our whole team...all of us onstage waiting for deliberation.

And here is one of the reasons NO one should ever be shot from the back...

THAT isn't pretty!!
It is a wild look to begin with...lord...Sharron.
WATCH TONIGHT!!
And be sexified!!!

Some things...GOLD, Judge Mathis, Les Mis.

What a muggy day, people.
I am now procrastinating going to the gym...I would like to just be truthful, here.
I had a few thoughts about the last week...there seemed no better time to share these thoughts with you....they all have no relation to one another.

1. You know what I love? When someone tells you a) They think they know you better than you know yourself OR b) That they KNOW you....usually said while they are rolling their eyes, being superior or pointing their finger in your chest.
Sidebar: I really DON'T love this.

2. I know that I sometimes comment on the performance of celebrities on my blog...or in my show (Yes, I said that I thought Meryl was crappy in Mamma Mia...I am sure she is crushed) BUT everyone is pooping on the Les Mis trailer that aired last night...I think it looked very exciting. ALSO...I did Les Mis for almost 4 years...not in a row...but 4 years all the same...I had the pleasure to see the performances of about 50 Fauntines (understudies and what not) and I think Anne Hathaway sounds lovely and seems to be acting the shit out of Fauntine. YOU GO GIRL! You sing that note in your head voice...it sounds lovely.

3. I got back onstage at Buddies Scotiabank Pride Gala. What a fabulous night I had. There is nothing like live performance. I had a blast! And absolute blast! I CANNOT wait till my Sharron Matthews Superstar: GOLD Tour kicks of on that very same stage...Tallulah's BITCHES!! Songs by Guns and Roses, Beyonce, Police, Prince, Radiohead, Queen, Shelia E, Gaga, Eagles...so many...so many!! And I have GOT A STORY TO TELL!! IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG!!

Here is the poster (thanks to the AMAZING Andy Parks, www.andyparks.com for the killer design and to Mike Bickerton for the awesome photo!) ! Get your tickets now, people...these are my only TO shows THIS YEAR!!

4. AND THEN THERE IS SCOTLAND!! 50 days till EDFRINGE people!! TICKETS ON SALE!! Get your SEATS!!! I am so effing excited...THIS YEAR IS GONNA ROCK! And I am at the Pleasance Courtyard! The best of all possible venues!!

5. Last night, we had one really awesome chance of having Canada mentioned on the Tony Awards...and the leading player from Pippin effed it up. Lord...it was so...Canadian.

6. Judge Mathis is awesome. (Yes...it is a lazy day in many ways.)

7 . Tomorrow night, Tuesday,  on Global TV you can watch the second last episode of Season TWO of Canada Sings. It has been an amazing season. All of the teams have done so well...both sides...it was an inspiring season...really...just jaw dropping how wonderful all the performers were. The next two episode are just more of the awesomeness. This week CV and work with the Stampede Casino. They are a TRIP!!! They won our hearts...and worked so hard on their EXTREMELY difficult routine...and they pulled it off...so amazing...so proud!! Watch the show! Global. Tuesday. Check your local... but it is 10:00pm in Ontario! This is a very special episode.
Like a very special "Blossom" but better.
